In collaboration with Nelson Paints, the Psychosocial Team of the Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) transformed the Daycare Room of the Korangi Campus’ Pediatric Complex with its bright colors. Pediatric Oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy spend the day in the Daycare. Cancer treatment is draining and more so for children, which is why the hospital environment becomes overwhelming for them. The Psychosocial Team arranged a painting activity to make the Daycare more colorful to deal with this.

DR. BARI HONORED WITH NAIMAT ULLAH KHAN LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, CEO, Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), was honored with the Naimat Ullah Khan Lifetime Achievement Award by the Al-Khidmat Foundation (AKFP) in recognition of his philanthropic efforts with Indus. Muhammad Abdus Shakoor, President, AKFP, and Syed Ihsan Ullah Waqas, Senior Vice President, AFKP, presented the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Bari at its 6th Annual Youth Gathering Event on December 18, 2021.

WHO ACKNOWLEDGES IHHN’S STUDY ON COVID-19 RESEARCH

Researchers at The Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, Karachi, conducted a cohort study during the first wave of COVID-19 from March to June 2020 in order to estimate in-hospital mortality and its determinants among COVID-19 patients. The study — published in the esteemed PLOS One medical journal in May 2021, was among the first reports on in-hospital mortality among COVID-19 patients from Pakistan. It has received acclaim and acknowledgment from the international community.
