The Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus Honored with Prestigious 11th Annual Fire and Safety Award

The Indus Hospital & Health Network’s (IHHN) commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for its patients and faculty alike has garnered widespread recognition. The Korangi Campus was honored with the prestigious 11th Annual Fire and Safety Award 2021 in the field of fire and safety. On December 9, 2021, the ceremony took place at the Marriot Hotel, Karachi. The Sindh Government’s Secretary of Transport presented the award to IHHN.

RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN HOSPITAL TAKES PEHLA QADAM TOWARDS CLUBFOOT-FREE MUZAFFARGARH

In another significant milestone for the Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital’s (RTEH) Physical Rehabilitation Center completed the first batch of clubfoot treatment at Muzaffargarh. Forty children completed the four-year Ponseti protocol and are now leading normal lives. To mark this landmark achievement, the Clubfoot Team held the first “Clubfoot se Jeet ka Jashan” at the IHHN-managed hospital on December 21, 2021.

100TH PATIENT MILESTONE: IHHN’S PULMONARY REHABILITATION PROGRAM CELEBRATES ACCOMPLISHMENT

The World Health Organization recognizes Chronic Respiratory Diseases (CRDs) as a severe non-communicable disease that affects 290 million people worldwide, accounting for approximately three million deaths a year. Pakistan suffers from a high burden of Chronic Respiratory Disease. As of 2014, the mortality rate stands at 138.2/ 100,000 in males and 41/ 100,000 among females. Factors such as tobacco smoke, air pollution, occupational chemicals, and dust, among others, have played a significant part in leading to rising CRDs.

Voices Against Tobacco Ambassadors Conduct Community Research Survey on Tobacco Use in Islamabad

Voices Against Tobacco (VAT), an initiative of Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), today announced the results of a community research survey that showcases the dire need for change in tobacco control policies in Pakistan. The results were presented by VAT Student Ambassadors, who are rallying for the health and well-being of their communities, emphasizing that better policies are needed in order to reduce tobacco consumption.

Indus Hospital & Health Network Trains Healthcare Workers of Engro Corporation

Indus Hospital & Health Network conducted a three-day Postexposure Prophylaxis (PEP) workshop for the doctors and nurses of the Engro Corporation. The training sessions took place at the Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, from November 29 – December 1, 2021. Dr. Naseem Salahuddin, Head of Infectious Department, Indus Hospital & Health Network, and Muhammad Aftab Gohar, Manager Rabies Prevention & Training Center, conducted these sessions.

Physically-disabled patients exhibited their empowerment with assertive devices on December 4, 2021, at The Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities. December 3 is observed as International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) worldwide. The theme for IDPD this year was “Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible, and sustainable post-COVID-19 world.”

The Pathology Department (clinical Laboratories) of Indus Hospital, Karachi, received accreditation with ISO 15189 quality standards, becoming one of the 14 medical laboratories in Pakistan to achieve this status. The role of clinical laboratories in the treatment of patients cannot be overstated, as timely and accurate diagnostic reports are the ultimate foundation of optimal patient management.
