A trans-radial prosthesis (TRP), also called a below-elbow artificial limb, is an artificial upper limb that replaces an amputated limb below the elbow. It is utilized for individuals with amputations or congenital absences of the hand or below the forearm.

The TRP consists of different components, including a socket, a wrist unit, and a hand or hook attachment. The socket is the component that fits over the residual limb, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit; the wrist unit provides rotational abilities; and the hand or hook attachment allows for gripping and manipulation of objects. With proper fitting and therapy, a TRP allows patients to resume their daily activities (e.g eating, dressing, writing) independently.
