Services and Resources for Researchers

IHRC provides a broad spectrum of services, resources, and expertise to catalyze innovative and multidisciplinary health research:

Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Offers consultations on study design for clinical trials, epidemiological studies, qualitative research, as well as data management and quantitative analysis. Educational internship opportunities for undergraduate students interesting in research are also available. To request for a research consult, email research@tih.org.pk

Clinical Research & Programs
Provides expert support for running a clinical study including study coordination and financial management of sponsored research. Our program team assists researchers by guiding them through the research infrastructure, assessing project needs, facilitating access to IHRC resources, and matching the needs of researchers with the expertise across campus’.

Institutional Review Board (IRB)

Indus Hospital & Health Network is registered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) organization with the following two IRBs; IHHN-IRB#1 Biomedical/Clinical and IHHN-IRB#2 Social/Behavioral. Any research conducted within Indus Hospital & Health Network requires ethical approval by the IRB. To request IRB forms, email irb@tih.org.pk

Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Certification

IHHN is also the only institute in Pakistan that mandates that all its researchers have must have a valid research ethics and compliance CITI certification prior to commencing any research activities. To complete the required training, please follow the Step by Step CITI Training Guide.

Regulatory Support

Assist investigators with study start-up process, ongoing study maintenance, and study close-out process. Indus Hospital & Health Network is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, a registry of clinical trials maintained by the National Library of Medicine. Principal Investigators are assisted in their clinical trials registry by research officers.

Data Management Unit(DMU)

Provides services in questionnaire design, Urdu typing, codebook, data cleaning and data entry DMU is transitioning to using REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) for support of data entry and capture.

Data Extraction Consultations

Includes facilitation for data extraction from Indus’ Health Management Information System and Medical Records.

Administrative

Supporting Indus publications; tracking faculty and resident research; assisting with grant and collaborative research activity including budgets and agreement/MoUs.
