Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) and Karachi Relief Trust (KRT) continued their joint relief efforts for the flood-hit Uthal, in district Lasbela, Balochistan, by sending another team of doctors and paramedical staff to the region.
Three additional doctors sent from IHHN Karachi screened approximately 300 patients in the Family Medicine OPDs throughout the day. Mothers were given awareness and counselling about breastfeeding. Other awareness sessions about Hand washing, health and hygiene, homemade ORS were also conducted. The teams carried out massive deworming among children. A special TB screening truck was also present which has X-Ray machine installed.
Health Secretary, Government of Balochistan, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir, appreciated the efforts of IHHN for standing with the people of Balochistan in these difficult times and extending their support in providing relief to the flood devastated regions in the province.
