The Clinical Nutrition Department of The Indus Hospital (TIH), Korangi Campus, organized a nutrition education session focusing on malnutrition in pre-and post-surgical patients on June 10, 2021.
The Clinical Nutrition Department collaborated with General Surgery and Urology departments. Yumna Sadiq, Senior Clinical Nutritionist, was the presenter. The focus was to prevent malnutrition in pre-and post-surgical patients. In addition, ‘enhanced recovery after Surgery guidelines’ were also discussed, which significantly impact the patient outcome and decrease the length of the hospital stay.
The Clinical Nutrition Department provides Continuing Nutrition Education to different faculties on a need basis. Over the last two years, 10 Continuing Nutrition Education sessions have taken place, including Family Medicine, Nephrology, Critical Care, General Surgery, Urology, Pediatrics Family Medicine, and General Surgery.
As a part of Continuing Nutrition Education, Clinical Nutrition Department also offers internship programs, a one-year hands-on training program, and Nursing Education Program.
