CME – Safe Caesarean Section

CME – Safe Caesarean Section

A continuing medical education (CME) workshop on “Safe Caesarean Section” was held at Sheikh Saeed Memorial Campus on December 8, 2022.

Cesarean section is the most common surgical procedure in the obstetrics & gynecology (OB/GYN) specialty that is performed at different levels of maternity setups. Complications can lead to morbidity and mortality in otherwise young and healthy mothers. The “Safe Caesarean Section” CME workshop aimed to prevent these complications through advanced education and training.

Dr. Pushpa Srichand and her team facilitated the workshop.  Dr. Pushpa Sirichand is presently a Professor and the Head of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department Unit II at Isra University Hospital, Hyderabad. She holds an MBBS with MCPS, DGO, and FCPS and has experience working at renowned organizations. Attendees included residents, senior residents, and senior medical officers.

The workshop was held onsite and included online participants hailing from various hospitals across Sindh and Punjab, including Isra University Hospital and IHHN-managed hospitals: Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Bedian Road; Indus Hospital –  QF, NST & SMP Campus, Jubilee Town, Lahore; Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Manawan; Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Sabzazar; Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Kahna Nau; Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Raiwind; Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital; District Headquarter Hospital, Badin; and Sheikh Saeed Memorial Campus, Karachi.
