IRD, IHN and Evidence Action’s Deworm the World Initiative teamed up for a School Based Deworming Program in Pakistan

The WHO estimates that over 1.5 billion people are infected globally with soil transmitted helminths (STH-intestinal worms).

Interactive Research and Development (IRD), Indus Health Network (IHN) and Evidence Action’s Deworm the World Initiative teamed up for the development of a School Based Deworming Program in Pakistan, under which Pakistan’s first STH Prevalence Survey was conducted.

As part of government engagement, a briefing session was conducted for the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training. The Ministry was highly enthusiastic about the program and indicated their willingness to advance forward.
