Dr. Alizeh Abbas and Dr. Lubna Samad Represented the Indus Health Network at the Global Initiative for Children’s Surgery Meeting IV

Dr. Alizeh Abbas, Research Associate, Global Health Directorate and Dr. Lubna Samad, Senior Consultant, Pediatric General Surgery, the Indus Hospital attended the Global Initiative for Children’s Surgery (GICS) meeting IV. The meeting was held in Johannesburg, South Africa from January 17-18, 2020.

Dr. Abbas delivered an engaging presentation on the Essential Children’s Surgery project on behalf of her team while Dr. Samad shared Pakistan’s perspective and experience of inclusion of children’s surgery in the country’s National Health Plan. Both presentations were very well received. IHN is proud to have a strong participation in efforts aimed at improving access to surgical and anesthesia care for children globally.
