Indus Hospital & Health Network’s (IHHN) infection control (IC) department celebrated “International Infection Control and Prevention Week 2022” to improve the IC knowledge and skills among IHHN Healthcare Workers (HCW), Housekeeping staff, and patients. Free-of-cost online and onsite awareness sessions were held from October 18 – 20, 2022. Certificates of completion were handed out to program attendees.
At IHHN, Korangi Campus, several stalls were installed in the hospital’s waiting area where proper handwashing and sanitizing techniques were taught to the general public. The event was supported by PROMARK SERVICES (PVT) LIMITED, which generously donated hand sanitizer bottles distributed among the patients.
A two-day online educational session for Healthcare Workers (HCW) discussed the risk factors that cause hospital infections and their prevention. The session was attended by more than 1500 HCWs from IHHN’s entire network and 140 other hospitals. An online educational session was also held for IHHN Housekeeping supervisors and staff, which touched upon crucial topics, including the importance of thorough housekeeping and how to effectively clean critical care areas.
