The Indus Hospital celebrated the first anniversary of its hospital-based school for children

First anniversary of establishment of ‘Indus Kay Sitaray’ was organized by The Indus Hospital Psycho-social department on June 17, 2019 at the paediatric complex. The ceremony was attended by the students of IKS along with their teachers and the senior management of TIH including CEO Indus Health Network, Dr Abdul Bari Khan; Director Medical Services, Dr Muhammad Shamwil Ashraf; Head of Paediatric Medicine, Dr Muhammad Fareeduddin; Chair Paediatric Services, Dr Ahmer Hamid and Mr Mashhood Rizvi, Executive Director, Communications and Resource Development.

The children performed on short stories and shared their experiences with IKS school.

With the objective to impart education to children undergoing treatment for childhood cancer and any other chronic disease with a prolonged treatment, the school established a collaboration with Shahwilayat Public School to develop a special curriculum to be taught at the school by voluntary teachers. To-date 38 students have completed their elementary level education and a special diploma has been awarded by Shahwilayat School for the students to continue their education after their treatment is completed at the TIH.
