To commemorate Universal Children’s Day, a group of compassionate women from Inner Wheel Club Karachi D327 visited the Indus Hospital on Saturday November 21, 2020. The club affiliated with the UK based parent organization Inner Wheel was created in 1924 basing their foundation on three major principles;
- To promote true friendship
- To encourage ideals of personal service
- To foster international understanding
Dr.Fareed, Head of Pediatrics department at The Indus Hospital gave a half an hour presentation on the vast array of services offered by the pediatrics complex, followed by a short round of questions and suggestions by our guests.
Our guests had come prepared for their visit, they distributed more than a 100 goodies (Toys, clothes and edibles) packed in hand painted cloth tote bags by students they had motivated to volunteer. A round of the hospital affirmed their belief that the Indus Health Network provides free of cost, quality healthcare for all. The group of women visited the play area and school for children as well as the oncology Day Care ward and ICU.
At the end of the visit the group was filled with awe at the way the Network has upheld its promise of taking care of its patients. We look forward to future collaborations and projects with such dedicated women groups hoping to transform the health landscape of Pakistan.
